The Toronto Humane Society is “dedicated to
providing compassionate care, shelter, adoptions to caring homes and a
voice for abandoned, abused and injured companion animals.”
The Society has a modern facility that houses
its shelter, clinic and administrative offices. Technological advances
such as computerized record-keeping, microchip pet identification and
rapid-fire telecommunications systems have enhanced the efficiency and
cost-effectiveness of shelter operations. The Society operates as an
independent not-for-profit organization supported by donors and members.
The THS does not receive government funding.
